SEO Copywriter

SynthaSite's vision is to enable anyone, anywhere to publish their own website. We're a venture-backed start-up who recently raised our series A funding, released a beta product into the market and are ready to take the world by storm. We'll be growing our user base to 1 million users within the next 18 months and need a team of outstanding people.

Position:

A creative and driven SEO copywriter is wanted to help gain prime search engine placement with compelling content that converts. The SEO copywriter will be responsible for creating original copy, editing existing copy and interacting with marketing, business and content specialists to achieve specific SEO goals, including increasing organic search traffic as well as increasingpaid search conversion rates.

Location:

Cape Town, South Africa

Key responsibilities:

• Conducting keyword research and competitive research to target popular and highly converting keywords.
• Working closely with Marketing, Business Development and Website developers to create optimal web copy and content.
• Editing regular copy and SEO copy to optimize keyword usage and increase the conversion rate.
• Creating internal SEO copywriting guidelines.
• Researching effective SEO copywriting techniques.
• Using a content management system to update websites.

Required Skills And Experience:

• Understanding of SEO and SEM.
• SEO copywriting experience is preferred.
• Understanding of keyword research.
• Ability to write copy to specifications, such as word count, keyword density and keyword placement.
• Ability to target conversion and brand messaging goals while writing "to spec".
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Copy-editing experience is a plus.
• BA in English or equivalent experience.
• A "Get things done" attitude - we're in start-up mode, so every team member is jumping in and doing whatever needs to be done to build the world's best online publishing tool.
